Who we are

CLAIR (Clean Air Innovation for Resilience) is a climate-tech venture founded by Waku Ken-Opurum, a researcher and social entrepreneur passionate about bridging science, design, and justice. We are pioneering passive, biodegradable, biomimetic air filters that combat pollution sustainably while reducing waste, with a focus on making clean air accessible for all.

As a startup, CLAIR stands at the intersection of innovation and impact: we are advancing technologies that address one of the world’s most urgent health challenges while creating scalable, sustainable opportunities for global markets. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to our vision of equity and resilience, working to ensure that frontline communities most heavily burdened by pollution benefit first.

Our team of researchers, designers, and collaborators is building solutions that are both environmentally sound and socially transformative. By combining cutting-edge research with community-driven insights, CLAIR is shaping a future where every breath is cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable.
